The Ground & Pound is Lusithand's take on TOOL bassist Justin Chancellor’s grittyy, stick-out-of -the-mix, distorted sound. We believe it does a good job at it but it's not, by any stretch, a one-trick pony.
The distortion has been carefully tailored and eq'd to have a full frequency spectrum, sounding full bodied and cutthroat.
Two new features have been included in this second version of the Ground & Pound; the ground/ pound switch and an L-Pad attenuator.
The Ground setting is a new sound-profile that allows for a deeper, more modern sound, while the Pound setting is the standard/original sound of the pedal.
The L-Pad allows for -10db attenuation, perfect to use with hotter instruments.
We have also focused on making the ‘Dis‘ control better by designing it in a way that the distortion’s volume stays more constant as the gain/distortion increases. This makes it easier to use it in conjunction with the Mix control.
The ‘Mix‘ control has a very musical compression ratio (2:1) on the clean signal. This mixes very well with the distorted sound and just adds to the overall playing experience.
