This vintage 1980s cocktail dress features an embellished lace drop waist bodice, and a full bubble skirt. It is missing its brand label, but it was likely made by a European designer— It was purchased at a boutique that was known for carrying all the important high end luxury European labels. The corded Alençon lace has a beautiful texture, and the tonal black embellishment adds shimmer, and additional texture, without reading too glittery. The lining on the bodice stops above the chest, which gives sheerness to the neckline and sleeves, allowing the details of the lace and embellishment tot really shine. The skirt has layers of tulle to create fullness, and an almost bubble shape. I love the cross-hatch appliqué on the skirt. Complete with a high neck and keyhole back.
