Introducing Wearing History's "Pattern Preservation Project".
This new line of patterns focuses on digitally preserving as many antique originals as possible.

Wearing History #PM2691-
This pattern is for a Circa 1909 Girl's Dress.  This pattern is for size 6 ONLY.

---  DESCRIPTION  ---

~  Advanced/Expert Difficulty ~ These patterns are from antique originals and have only the original period instructions.  Some experimentation may be required.  Please read the page supplied in images for more about this project.  You may click on it to enlarge.

This pattern originally appeared in McCall's Magazine in the year 1909.  This style of dress works for most of the Edwardian era, but especially the 1907-1910 range.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE A MOCK UP TO TEST PATTERN FIT AND CONSTRUCTION BEFORE CUTTING INTO YOUR FASHION FABRIC.
This antique pattern is as originally presented, with very minimal instruction, and may require alterations and adaptions.

- SIZING -

This pattern is for size 6, or 24.5" breast.  No other body measurements were given.
Period patterns included only one size per envelope and were not multi-sized like patterns today.

- - WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THIS PATTERN - -

  • --- A clean, computer drawn pattern of the basic pattern shapes needed to create the garment illustrated.
  • --- The original front and back cover images.  The back cover included very basic sewing instructions that were provided in the period. These are mostly text and do not include finishing instructions.  See image in the listing for the entirety of the antique instructions.  No separate instruction insert was originally included with this pattern (they are not missing; they just were just not provided by this maker in this period).
  • --- Typed text of the front and back information for reading clarity (those old covers could have tiny text, so we find this easier to read).
  • --- One page about Pattern Preservation Project with links to my blog for period sewing books and other period fashion information which may help with sewing antique patterns.  There are no tutorials for this pattern specifically.
  • --- You must be familiar with how to put a garment together using pattern shapes and garment illustration.
  • --- This pattern has had some minor adjustments, but the majority of the pattern outlines and markings are placed as they were in the period. It also has labeling on the pieces and drawn lines and seam allowances, where they were originally just punched holes.   Not all patterns in this line have this!

- - What Is NOT Included With This Pattern - -

  • ---NO trim placement. You must get creative with your lace and trims.
  • ---NO finishing instructions (just basic what-goes-to-what)
  • ---NO instructions for closures or fasteners, and no closure placement marks.
  • ---NO illustrated step-by-step instructions
  • ---ONLY ONE SIZE- Size 6
  • ---NO tutorials, videos, or sewing support for this particular pattern, as this project is meant to preserve as many antique patterns as possible in their original form.  Please see some of my other pattern offerings if you need more instruction or sewing support.  I have provided links to my blog for antique sewing books available online, and my YouTube and blog have other antique fashion and sewing information you may find useful.

Great, comfortable jeans.
Special Size: Low Stretch, Size: 34W x 30L, Color: Dark Midnight Wash
Great jeans! They're relaxed, but not loose or super baggy, so they still look great. I got the dark wash and you can wear them as dressy jeans or just casual out and about. I have bigger thighs and the 34x30 fits perfectly with room still to spare and not constricting at all. Whether it's walking around a lot, or sitting down for hours, it's very comfortable. We'll see how long they last but I washed them once already and are holding up. The length is good as well. When I don't have shoes I probably need a belt or could've ordered 29 length, but they're fine when I have shoes on. They don't slip down at all. Especially for the price compared to Levi's or others that cost 40, 50, or even $60 this is a great deal.

If you’re on the fence read this
Special Size: Low Stretch, Size: 40W x 30L, Color: Iced Light Wash, Special Size: Low Stretch, Size: 40W x 30L, Color: Iced Light Wash
In all honesty, I was skeptical about ordering jeans from Amazon. I’ve always bought my jeans in stores, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I ordered these jeans for an upcoming outdoor wedding because I wanted something lighter and thinner. They showed up today, and I threw them on. They fit great, feel good and comfortable, and they don’t look cheap. I’ll mainly be using these for outings, so I can’t really attest to the durability as far as working in them, but I’d still suggest them. For reference, I’m 5’8” and 230 lbs with a husky build—kind of fit, kind of fat.
